Why Layered Wraps Are The Best Choice For Commercial Fleets

In today’s competitive market, branding is everything. Your fleet vehicles are rolling billboards, and a high-quality wrap ensures that your business stands out on the road. But not all wraps are created equal—many companies settle for digitally printed wraps, which can fade, crack, and peel over time just because of the nature of the product, not necessarily because they are bad quality. Digital print is basically an ink on top of a white base layer vinyl which is topped or not with an overlaminate.

At Beyond Slick, we specialize in layered vinyl wraps, an advanced technique that offers superior durability, vibrancy, and precision compared to traditional printed wraps.

Here’s why layered wraps are the best investment for your commercial fleet:

Maximum durability and lifespan – Fleet wraps are exposed to UV rays from sun, harsh weather and daily wear and tear. Unlike printed wraps, which are prone to fading and peeling within a few years, layered wraps are built to last. The actual material in its full thickness is pigmented in the respective color versus only the top layer in case of a digital print. The lifespan of a layered wrap is 4.5-5 years versus 3-5 years in case of digital prints.

Easier Repairs – If a section of the layered wrap gets damaged, we can replace individual layers instead of reprinting the entire side. Nearly always reprinting partially a panel is problematic because the printed and cured ink is almost never the same. Even with high-end printing technology, digital printers cannot produce perfectly identical prints every time. Humidity, temperature and ink drying times affect how colors develop. It is not the case with solid color vinyl we work with. Imagine doing body work on a vehicle and having it painted, without having to blend the panels around.

Stronger adhesion/bond – Premium cast vinyl materials we use such as Avery Supreme Wrapping Cast (for base) and Oracal 751 series (for logos and lettering) maintain their shape and hold better than thin printed films.

Unmatched visual impact – Your fleet vehicles should be bold, clean, and professional. Printed wraps can look pixelated or blurry up close (even if you are using high quality print files or vectorial files, just because of the nature of the technology), while layered wraps deliver sharp, vibrant graphics with depth and precision.

Custom depth – Layered stripes, logos, and text create a 3D effect that printed wraps can’t replicate. It is really good looking.

Easier to modify and update – Need to change a phone number/logo? With layered vinyl, we can update just a section instead of reprinting the whole.

Premium finish options – offers gloss, matte, metallic and speciality textured finishes that printed wraps cannot replicate.

No lamination needed – Unlike printed wraps that require lamination for protection, cast vinyl is already durable reducing the risk of damage.

Protects vehicle resale value – The thicker, high-quality material protects the paint underneath, keeping your fleet looking newer for longer.

Consistency – For companies with multiple vehicles, uniformity is key. Printed wraps can suffer from color inconsistencies between print batches, leading to mismatched branding. Layered vinyl wraps ensure that every vehicle in your fleet looks identical and professional.

Expert Craftsmanship – we are specialized in plotter-cut decals, and commercial wraps using the latest generation Graphtec FC9000 plotter.
